General Notary Questions

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

A valid, government-issued photo ID. Acceptable forms include:
· California driver’s license or ID
· U.S. passport or passport card
· Driver’s license/ID from another state
· Inmate ID from a California detention facility
· U.S. military ID (if not expired)

If you’re unsure about your ID, ask me before the appointment.

How much does a notarization cost?

California sets the fee at $15 per signature, plus a mobile travel fee. See my Pricing page for a full breakdown.

Can you give legal advice or explain my documents?

No. Notaries cannot give legal or financial advice, nor can we interpret documents. I can help identify where signatures, dates, and initials go.

Do all signers need to be present?

Yes. Anyone whose signature I’m notarizing must appear in person with valid ID.

Estate Planning Document Questions

Do you provide witnesses for wills or trusts? Yes, witness services are available for an additional fee. When you book, let me know how many you need.

Can you notarize wills in California?

Wills normally do not require notarization in CA. However, some attorneys include a notarial certificate or special instructions. if so, I can notarize it.

What if the signer has limited mobility or difficulty writing?

As long as the signer can:

· Communicate willingness
· Understand what they’re signing
· Make a physical mark (or direct another person to sign for them)

Hospital, Assisted Living & Hospice Questions

Can you notarize documents for someone who is very ill?

Yes—as long as they are aware, coherent, and willing at the time of signing.

If they cannot communicate awareness, I cannot legally proceed.

What if they don’t have their ID with them at the hospital?

If the signer lacks ID, we may use two credible witnesses who know the signer and have valid ID themselves. Ask me—I’ll guide you through the options.

Do you offer same-day hospital appointments?

Yes, hospital and hospice signings often require urgent service. I do my best to prioritize these.

Jail & Detention Facility Questions

What information do I need for a jail notarization?

I will need:

· Inmate’s full name
· Location (Theo Lacy, Santa Ana, etc.)
· Booking number
· Document(s) to be notarized

I will handle the rest, including facility check-in.

Does the inmate need ID?

Their facility wristband typically counts as valid identification in California.

How long does the process take?

Jail appointments often involve waiting time for clearance and movement of the inmate.

Most visits take 45–90 minutes.

Loan Signing Questions

Do you print and bring the loan documents?

Yes. I print the full package on the correct page sizes and bring a borrower copy if required.

Do you offer scanbacks?

Yes. Scanbacks are available for an additional fee.

How long does a loan signing appointment take?

Most loan signings take:

· Buyer/Seller packages: 30–45 minutes
· Refinance packages: 45–75 minutes
· Reverse mortgage: 75–120 minutes

Do you work with signing services?

Yes, signing companies, escrow, lenders, realtors, and attorneys regularly hire me for professional, accurate signings.

How far in advance should I schedule?

Same-day and next-day appointments are often available.

For estate planning or multi-signer appointments, booking ahead is recommended.
